Dead West

Following the end of the American civil war in 1965, a strange occurrence happened the dead didn't stay at peace. the amount of corpses lying around the country and in the graves dug at the battle fields caused them to rise. The graves now unoccupied and starting to move towards the towns and settlements around the frontier. some speculate that the amount of souls seeking rest and the way which they died caused the emotions of the last moments to turn the ground vile and corrupt, all that is known is those that are bitten end up becoming one of them joining the ranks of the dead.. The government has called all the soldiers that they could to protect strategically picked locales as settlements for the many survivors. President Andrew Johnson has offered a decent wage for any souls that are brave enough to risk their lives going out on trains to collect survivors supplies and just kill any undead in the dead west.
